Sturdy for high mechanical loads
Maximum process reliability is guaranteed by the components coming into contact with the medium being of stainless steel, the welded system not presenting any dead spots, the device being designed with the IP 67 protection class, and providing high vibration resistance (shakeproof). The stainless steel measuring cell is safe and reliable due to its longevity and high overload strength. -
Compact and economic
The small dimensions (Ø 27 mm x 65 mm) allow for flexibility with regard to installation positions. Wiring and installation are simple and optimize material consumption. Uniform parameterization and diagnosis of the entire CAN bus system, except the sensor level, entails savings during start-up and maintenance. -

The device profile is developed and designed in accordance with standard CiA DS 404. LSS is supported for setting the module ID and the Baud rate. To allow for easy handling, the setting can be configured using a commercially available software tool. -
Process safe and reliable
Redundant sensors, a heartbeat function and node guarding as well as permanent self-diagnosis offer maximum safety and reliability. Data transmission from the sensor to the control system is fast (pressure sensing rate: 1ms, temperature sensing rate: 250ms) and interference resistant. Additional functions with linearization and scaling, measuring range monitoring, precise adjustment, fly back function relieve the PLC .
Technical features
- The analog signals of the pressure measuring cell and of the temperature probe are digitalized.
- Digital factory-adjustment of the pressure and temperature signal.
- The sensor monitoring permanently checks the correct function of the sensor signal and triggers emergency telegrams in the event of an error.
- The measured pressure value can be scaled to any desired dimensional units (or to % of the measuring range). The temperature can be changed over from °C to °F.
- The precision adjustment comes with an auto-zero function and a freely settable characteristic curve offset.
- Undesired signal fluctuations can be suppressed through the settable filter constant.
- The measured values are put out with a freely selectable decimal point.
- The measuring range monitoring has freely selectable upper and lower limits. The result is put out as a status byte next to the measured value with the PDO telegram.
- The fly back function saves the minimum and maximum measured pressure and temperature values.
- Date and name of the last maintenance can be saved.
- The emergency telegram is triggered in the event of a probe defect.
- The two PDO telegrams contain the 32 bit measured value and the 8 bit status both for pressure and temperature. The measured value output can be controlled through various trigger conditions.
- SDO telegrams allow to set parameters and to inquire measured values and status.
- The heartbeat signal allows to additionally monitor the transmitter function.
- The sync command can be used to also control measured value transmission.
- The NMT telegrams are intended to control the transmitter operating status.
- The CAN module ID and the CAN Baud rate are set through LSS or SDO.

Omschrijving
This pressure and temperature transmitter is used to record relative and absolute pressures in fluids and gasses. In addition, the integrated temperature probe measures the medium temperature directly at the pressure membrane.
The pressure transmitter operates according to the piezoresistive or thin film DMS measuring principle.
The temperature transmitter receives the measured values from a Pt1000 probe.
The measured pressure and temperature values are digitalized and made available for further processing through the serial "CANopen" bus protocol (CAN slave). A number of additional useful functions are realized through the dS 404 device profile.
